Do you enjoy being on the cutting edge of today’s technology? Do you like to fly? Do you have the basic computer skills mastered and want to use your knowledge to help CAP perform it’s primary missions? Are you interested in space and would like to be able to track satellites, the space shuttle, and the International Space Station in orbit from your squadron’s computer? We combine all these activities into an exciting week during the Advanced Technologies Academy! You will also see how CAP provides some of the first photographs of disaster sites by flying in CAP aircraft and taking the pictures yourself! You will then transmit those images back to base using satellite technology. You will also get hands-on demonstrations of infrared and night vision equipment. Another part of the activity is the CAP Satellite Tool Kit program. You will learn to use this state-of-the-art space computer application to learn about satellite missions, types and locations of satellite orbits and many other interesting space operations topics. |
