Many wings ask two questions in this regard:
"Should we green light/highly recommend senior members? and "Should we green light/highly recommend IACE?"
In both instances we would say No:
Senior member applications contribute to the overall number of green lights available to a wing (10% of total applications rounded up to the nearest whole person) but Activity Directors choose their staffs so SMs do not receive an objective score and are not currently included in the computer-aided initial slotting so there is no benefit to giving them a green light when a cadet would be better served by it.
Because IACE considers things like the Supplemental Application cadets that are green lighted/highly recommended are not put ahead of other cadets, they simply receive a few bonus points. So the green light would be better used on a cadet who will benefit by going to the beginning of the line for highly competitive activities.
